Catch-up filing
Behind on your taxes? We'll get you current.
We prepare and file prior-year and amended returns for individuals and small businesses — including years you never filed, returns that need correcting, and notices you would rather not open.
Common reasons clients start here
- One or more years were never filed
- An IRS or state notice arrived
- A return needs correcting after filing
- A loan or mortgage needs tax years on record
- Self-employment income was never reported
- An inheritance or property sale involves old filings
What a catch-up package covers
- Unfiled years prepared and filed in the correct order
- Amended returns (1040-X, 1120-X, 1065-X)
- IRS and Texas Comptroller notice responses
- Penalty and interest review, including abatement requests
- Installment-agreement and payment-plan guidance
- Tax transcripts pulled on your behalf
- Missing W-2s, 1099s, and books reconstructed for old years
- A clean filing history you can hand a lender
How it works
Step 01
Tell us which years
Call or book online and list the years and entities involved. We review your account transcripts before quoting so the scope is honest.
Step 02
Flat quote before we start
You get a fixed fee per year. Any penalties or interest owed are explained separately, so nothing arrives as a surprise.
Step 03
We rebuild the records
Missing forms are sourced from transcripts, prior filings, payroll records, and your bank statements — you are not asked to hunt through old boxes.
Step 04
File, confirm, close the loop
We e-file, confirm acceptance, and follow up on correspondence until each year is genuinely settled.
Questions owners ask
- Is it too late to file an old year?
- No. There is no deadline for filing a prior-year return, though refund claims generally must be made within three years of the original due date. Balances owed should be filed as soon as possible, because penalties and interest grow with time.
- Will I owe penalties?
- Often less than people expect. Depending on the year and the facts, first-time abatement and reasonable-cause relief can apply. We review those options and show you the math before you file.
- Can you deal with the IRS directly?
- We prepare and submit notice responses and handle most correspondence matters. Cases that need a specialist — such as a field audit or an active levy — are flagged before we take the engagement, not after.
- How long does a catch-up package take?
- Most single-year catch-ups are filed within one to three weeks of receiving records. Multi-year packages with reconstructed books take longer, and you get a schedule up front.
